When I was younger my CPA said
“Brian it’s a lot better for you to hold the property for at least 12 months,
12 months and one day,”
so I instituted selling not for cash right away but selling on terms with a lease with an option.
I would have a 12-month lease with option and they could not close before 12 months have passed. That created a good situation for me tax-wise and have lower capital gains tax.
